Clinics, Doubles League, Smash & Tickle 08

We will be holding a badminton clinic on December 10th from 7:00-8:30. Larry and Dexter will be emphasizing doubles skills and strategy during this clinic. Please let us know this Monday if you are interested so that we can plan on additional instructors and courts for the clinic.

Also, December 10th will be the last Monday of play for the year and will resume play in January; the Armory is closed or booked for the remaining Mondays in December.

Doubles league will begin in January. Double will consist of teams of 3 or 4 players competing against other teams in their level. Like last year, we will be doing online registration. We are also looking at doing individual registration at the Armory for players looking for a team. If you wish to play and do not have a team, please let us know and what level you wish to play so that we can begin pairing up teams.

SMASH AND TICKLE 08 is in the planning stages, you should be too. Last years tournament was BIG FUN and this year will be BIGGER FUN. We will keep you posted on the June tournament as it gets closer.

Veterans Day Nov 12 - No Open Gym!

Sorry for the late notice, but the Armory just informed us today that they will be closed for Veterans Day, so we will resume open gym next week, Nov 19.

Badminton Clinics announced - Winter Doubles coming!

Chicago area coaches have agreed to provide coaching to players of all skill levels on the following dates and times.

Nov 12, 26 and Dec 10. Clinics start at 7pm and conclude at 8:30pm.

Topics covered during the coaching clinics will depend on the skill level and interest of participants each night.

The $7 open gym fee will cover the clinics as well.

Open gym will still run on a minimum of 6 courts while the clinics will run on 1-3 designated courts.

Location: Broadway Armory.

Winter Doubles: Sign-up will begin in January, the league will start play in late January. We will update the blog and send out an email when the dates are finalized.
